Everything in this edit is gathered in one place: shop the Palisades Village lunch outfits collection.
Palisades Village lunch outfits are about getting dressed for a lovely afternoon without making a production of it. My photo below is from a past lunch at The Draycott: vegetables, soup and a table full of plates to share. The restaurant is now closed, but that relaxed, dressed-for-the-day feeling is still the starting point for this edit.

It makes me sad to think about what the Palisades lost in the January 2025 fires, and to know The Draycott is no longer there. I want to support Palisades Village as it comes back. There are still places to meet for a meal, and new restaurants joining the village too. Before making plans, I would check the current Palisades Village dining directory for what is open. This is a memory of a past lunch, not a recommendation to book The Draycott.
Palisades Village lunch outfits: a soft layer and a little red
My first formula is a soft knit, a skirt with some shape and a flat that gives the whole outfit a point of view. Almina Concept’s oatmeal wool wrap cardigan has a waist tie, so it can read more like a light jacket than a sweater you pulled on at the last minute. The wool is described as mid to heavyweight; this is the choice for a cooler afternoon, rather than the warmest part of the day.
Under it, Apiece Apart’s black wool overlap skirt keeps the line clean. The front overlap and slit give the maxi silhouette movement, while the back zip leaves the waist uncluttered. Dear Frances’ red patent ballet flats are the color here. I would keep the rest of the outfit quiet rather than match them to several other red pieces. Jenny Bird’s sculptural gold earrings finish the look without another layer around the neck. They create a doubled-hoop effect in one pair; gold-dipped brass is the finish, not solid gold.

A printed dress for an easy lunch outfit
A dress is useful when you want one decision to do most of the work. Cleobella’s floral long-sleeve mini shirtdress in Lys has a collar, button front and a removable waist tie. The pale blue-green ground keeps the floral print light, while the darker border gives it definition. I would wear the tie softly knotted, with no extra belt. The viscose-cupro fabric is a different feeling from a crisp cotton day dress, so choose this one for a little drape.
Vibi Venezia’s black velvet Mary Jane shoes bring that print back down to daytime. The rubber sole and velvet upper are a softer-looking contrast to the glossy red ballet flat above. Add Dorsey’s gold link bracelet when you want one piece at the wrist instead of a stack. Leonora comes in 18k gold-coated sterling silver or brass, not solid gold. For the walk between lunch and the shops, IZIPIZI’s round tortoise sunglasses keep the accessories simple and give the print room.

White cotton, olive trousers and a bright bag
For a more casual Palisades Village lunch outfit, I would put a white shirt with olive trousers and let the bag be the playful piece. Liberowe’s white cotton poplin peplum shirt has a gathered neckline and hem, which gives it shape without needing to tuck it in. Keep the trousers cleaner through the waist so the peplum can sit over them.
A.L.C.’s olive ankle-length twill pants in Eucalyptus bring the utility detail: patch pockets and visible seaming, with a relaxed leg. The brand says this wash runs small and recommends sizing up. That makes them worth checking against the size chart, especially if you want the easy fit shown here. They are the grounded piece in this group, rather than another dressy trouser.
Call It By Your Name’s fuchsia bandana tote bag in Fuchsia and Bordeaux puts color beside the white and olive. Its multi-pocket design suits a lunch that turns into a longer afternoon. Echo’s floral silk square scarf is another way to add color, tied at the neck or on a bag handle. I would choose the scarf or the bright tote as the main accent, not pile both prints into every outfit. These are separate options to make the same simple clothes feel personal.

Keep the afternoon simple
The useful part of these Palisades Village lunch outfits is how little needs to change. A cardigan and skirt feel more pulled together; the floral shirtdress handles the outfit on its own; white cotton and olive twill feel more casual. Start with the version that fits your day, then choose one finishing touch. The food and the company should still be the main event.
