London restaurant outfits are easiest when one good layer does most of the work. My photos from Bistro Freddie and Bubala are the starting point: two tables worth dressing for, with soft knits, easy trousers and a little color rather than a separate evening wardrobe.

London restaurant outfits for Bistro Freddie
Bistro Freddie is a British and French bistro on Luke Street in Shoreditch. The mussels and flatbread in my photo make this a food-first stop, and the outfit should feel equally unfussy. A tailored plaid jacket gives the look a defined shoulder; black barrel-leg trousers keep the lower half relaxed. Add espresso leather loafers rather than building the whole outfit around a heel.
The jacket is the structured piece here, so there is no need for another stiff layer. For a softer version, a rose cashmere cable cardigan brings color close to the face without changing the rest of the outfit. A camel duffle coat is the outside layer to carry through the day, while sage leather gloves make a quiet contrast with both the camel and the pink.

What to wear to Bubala in London
My Bubala photo is a different kind of table: a close-up of the food, with the meal doing the decorating. The restaurant describes its cooking as Middle Eastern and vegetable-focused, with dishes made for sharing. I would keep the clothes fluid here: a silk georgette blouse with a beige wool midi skirt, then a red lips clutch for a small, deliberate hit of color.

The blouse is sheer silk georgette, so plan the underlayer rather than discovering that detail while getting dressed. If separates feel like too much planning, an ivory tiered dress is the other route. Keep it simple with sculptural gold vermeil earrings; a pink checked alpaca-blend scarf brings warmth and color back into the look when you head outside.

How to make London restaurant outfits work all day
Start with the walking part of the day, then add the detail that makes the outfit feel like dinner. Choose the trouser or skirt shape first, keep the shoes familiar, and let one textured layer or a red bag do the work. These are outfit ideas inspired by the stops, not a claim about either restaurant’s dress code.
For packing, leave room for the coat you actually want to wear. A softer knit can sit under it; the earrings and clutch take very little space. The aim is a small set of pieces that still leaves room for a different mood at each table. London weather turns quickly, so a compact windproof travel umbrella earns its corner of the bag, a UK plug adapter with USB C keeps every charger working, and a small travel jewelry case for earrings keeps the pairs from tangling in transit.
