This guide starts with our own restaurant and city photos, then groups the outings by neighborhood. Pick a few that fit your trip instead of treating Los Angeles as a seven-day checklist.
Choose one part of the city for the day and check your actual route before adding an evening reservation. Venice, the Valley, downtown and the San Gabriel Valley are separate outings, not consecutive stops on one easy stroll. Our dining photos show previous visits; use each venue’s current menu for what is being served now.

Brentwood Country Mart: Farmshop, then the Getty
Farmshop at Brentwood Country Mart is the breakfast-and-browse starting point. The market setting makes this a softer opening to a Westside day than squeezing in several brunch reservations. Our table photo captures a previous meal, with bread, vegetables and a smoked-fish plate; the current seasonal menu may differ.

Continue to the Getty Center for the galleries, architecture and gardens. Admission is free but requires a timed-entry reservation, and parking is separate. Pick the art you want to see and leave time for the garden rather than trying to cover every room. Walking shoes and a light layer are more useful here than a new outfit for every stop.

Venice: Gjusta and a canal walk
Start at Gjusta Bakery, 320 Sunset Avenue, for bread, coffee and a proper breakfast. The current official menu lists shakshuka eggs and toast, alongside sandwiches and smoked-fish options. At the bakery, take an ordering ticket and wait for your number rather than claiming a table before ordering. Make the Venice Canals the walk, not an unnamed beach tour. The neighborhood association welcomes visitors without a ticket or reservation and suggests at least 45 minutes for a few bridges and canal paths. These are residential sidewalks: keep the pace easy, respect the homes, and walk a bicycle along the narrow paths. Plan the route from breakfast rather than assuming the canals are just outside the bakery.

Beverly Hills: an unhurried afternoon tea
If the trip calls for something dressed-up and slow, look at afternoon tea at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. Our photograph is from a previous holiday tea. The Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air is the quiet lunch or dinner option in this edit. The hotel describes its current cooking as Mediterranean-inspired and publishes sample menus. Check the live menu before you go.
This is a place to sit and enjoy the setting. Do not turn a Bel Air reservation into a cross-city detour after a full downtown day; use the actual travel time when deciding what else belongs beside it.

The Valley: Petit Trois Le Valley
Petit Trois Le Valley belongs in a Valley day of its own. Use the current all-day menu before deciding what to order; it lists steak frites and other bistro dishes, which may differ from the plates in our earlier visit photos. Our steak-and-fries photograph gives this stop a clear purpose: a proper French bistro meal rather than another generic restaurant pin.

Use the Le Valley page, not the other Petit Trois location, when checking the address and making plans. A soft jacket over a tee or knit works for the meal without turning the day into a formal dressing exercise.

For a distinct east-side-of-the-region outing, pair The Huntington in San Marino with a separate reservation at Bistro Na’s in Temple City. The Huntington’s gardens and galleries deserve real time; check its ticket rules and closures before the day. These are two separate addresses, so allow for the drive between them rather than calling it a walkable pair.

Bistro Na’s describes its cooking as royal Manchu cuisine. Build a shared meal around the current menu instead of ordering from old photo captions. The eggplant image is a record of our own meal; dishes and preparations can change.
What to wear here
Gardens, then dinner: use the white cotton tee, Dark Moss trousers and familiar walking shoes for The Huntington. For a dinner-only outing, the Espresso midi dress is the other option. Carry the Small Charlie bag for Bistro Na’s and add the black jacket only if the weather calls for it.
A specific outdoor morning: Fern Dell
For the walking part of the trip, choose Fern Dell in Griffith Park. The city identifies the shaded, fern-lined area near the Western Canyon entrance at 2333 Fern Dell. Start with that quieter walk, or plan an Observatory hike separately with a route and footwear suited to the climb. Check park notices, bring water and do not treat a dress shoe or city sneaker as a technical hiking shoe.
What to wear here
Fern Dell walk: use the breathable cotton tee, your own leggings or easy outdoor trousers and walking shoes. Bring water and a light layer. For an Observatory hike, choose footwear for the route; the ballet flats belong at a later city meal, not on the climb.
