How to choose a shearling coat shape
Think about what you wear underneath before choosing a size. A substantial knit needs different room from a thin tee. A short jacket works differently from a long coat: the former leaves more of the outfit visible, while the latter is the main shape.
For a mostly black wardrobe, tan or cream can soften the outfit. A black shearling layer puts the attention on texture instead. Keep footwear and bags simple if the collar or trim is already doing a lot. Reversible designs give you a choice of surfaces.

Is faux shearling as warm as real shearling?
Real shearling has wool attached to the hide. Faux shearling is a different construction, and warmth depends on the lining, weight and cut of the particular coat. Choose for the weather you will actually wear it in, rather than assuming the two materials perform the same way.
How should a shearling coat fit?
Close at the shoulders with room for a knit underneath. Shearling does not stretch; several of the coats here run large by design.
How do you care for a shearling coat?
For real shearling, use a broad hanger and a breathable garment bag, away from direct light and heat. Let a wet coat dry at room temperature; do not rub or brush it while wet. Deep cleaning belongs with a leather and sheepskin specialist. Faux shearling needs the care method on its own label, which may differ from real sheepskin.
