Top 5 Things to Wear for Sailing in Croatia
What to wear for sailing in Croatia is an interesting question because we had to pack for 2 very different trips this summer. We spent our first week in London and our second week living on a 45-foot double hull catamaran on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia.
Our week in London consisted of wildly changing weather that would go from a hot 80-degree day to a windy brisk 55-degree afternoon. We also went to some posh dinners, visited museums, saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, shopped at Harrods, and visited outdoor flea markets. We wore Ulla Johnson dresses, jumpsuits, platform sandals, sneakers, sweaters, and jackets throughout the week.
Since we had never stayed on a boat for 7 days straight except on a medium size cruiseliner, we had no idea what to pack for our boat trip in Croatia. I packed terribly and ended up wearing the same Splendid jumpsuit and black halter dress or only pair of GRLFRND black denim shorts with only black top for most of the week over my bathing suits. I also did not have the right bras so sometimes I could not wear a dress because the bra was not right. What I did not realize was that our trip would consist of stopping at beautiful bays with sophisticated restaurants contrasted with days anchored for us to kayak, swim, or tender to shore to hike, cruise around in a car or moped on the different islands.
My daughter and my niece, on the other hand, managed to pack the perfect clothing for the trip. They brought along light cotton strapless dresses, flat pretty sandals, multiple pairs of shorts and tees, and casual denim skirts with pretty tops. They had plenty of options for all the different activities on and off the boat.
