One of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday is lunch and shopping in Beverly Hills. We had lunch at Bad Roman on Canon Drive, the New York Italian spot that opened here this year, and it is every bit as fun as people say. Here is what we ordered, what to wear for a day of lunch and shopping, and how to plan your visit.
Lunch at Bad Roman
Bad Roman is on North Canon Drive, right in the middle of the Beverly Hills shopping streets, so it is the perfect starting point for a day out. The room is maximalist in the best way, and the menu is playful Italian: crudo, pastas, big salads, and a serious dessert list.
What We Ordered
We started with the crudo and the garlic bread, which is more like a stuffed, bubbling loaf and absolutely worth ordering for the table.
For mains we shared the branzino, a pasta, and a big chopped salad, all generous and easy to pass around.
Save Room for Dessert
Dessert is the headline here. We had the birthday dessert with a candle, plus a trio of others, and every one of them was worth the hype.
What to Wear for Lunch and Shopping in Beverly Hills
For lunch on Canon Drive and an afternoon of shopping, I like an outfit that is polished but easy: a beautiful knit, great jeans, a structured bag, and sunglasses.
