How to choose a shearling coat shape
Think about what you wear underneath before choosing a size. A substantial knit needs different room from a thin tee. Check the shoulder, sleeve length and fastening, then compare the measurements with a coat you already like. A short jacket works differently from a long coat: the former leaves more of the outfit visible, while the latter is the main shape.
For a mostly black wardrobe, tan or cream can soften the outfit. A black shearling layer puts the attention on texture instead. Keep footwear and bags simple if the collar or trim is already doing a lot. Reversible designs give you a choice of surfaces, but check the care instructions for both sides.
