Baltaire Restaurant in Brentwood Los Angeles is one of the newest hip restaurant spots to hit the very tony area of Brentwood. I went there last night to celebrate and had a divine time. What they offer here is the proximity that all the Brentwood and Pacific Palisades residents crave to a neighborhood steakhouse restaurant that is also as chic as any that are offered in Beverly Hills or Malibu. As much as we all love the blue cheese olive giant double size martinis at Nobu Malibu, it is quite a trek to go out to Malibu on a regular basis if you are not going for a big celebration.
Baltaire is in the perfect location. It is just off the 405 – right near all the offices in Westwood and Brentwood and walking distance for all Brentwood residents who want to drop in on a weeknight for a quick Ricotta Gnuddi dinner with a glass of sancerre or on a Saturday night for a date night where you can easily Uber home for under $10. Here is what we ate last night – Ricotta Gnuddi, Wedge Salad, Bone in Ribeye steak, dirty martinis, lobster mac and cheese, and scallops. For dessert we cleansed our palate with a trio of sorbet. The bar and the skylights coupled with the open kitchen gave us all the entertainment we needed for the night. All the powerbrokers came for a bite and to negotiate their next 3 picture deal after Cannes and the local residents came in after a long day at the office.
And it is a great place to go and have a drink after a long day of shopping if you just hit the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale.
