What to Park for a Ski Trip to Park City Utah:
Do you need to know what to pack for a ski trip to Park City Utah? We are currently spending Christmas in Park City, Utah and loving it. My family and I were invited by my brother to a home in the mountains of Park City for a week and we could not say yes fast enough! The house is nestled above the mountains of Park City and is only 5 minutes away from Main Street where the Sundance Film Festival is every year. The street is full of cool restaurants and stores.
Great Restaurants in Park City, Utah:
Restaurants in the area that I love include the Italian wine pizza and pasta restaurant Vinto which offers gluten free versions of almost every dish on the menu, Purple Sage which has great meats and chicken fried chicken steak. The Eating Place is a great place to enjoy some all day breakfast including a Quinoa Oatmeal or Huevos Racheros. Twisted Fern was away from Main Street in a nearby strip mall, but it was one of the best meals we had during our week in Park City.
What to Do in Park City and Deer Valley:
We have spent our week horseback riding at KB Horses in the mountains, crosscountry skiing at the Park City Hotel, snowboarding at the Park City Mountain Resort, and skiing at the Deer Valley Resort. Everything we did in Park City was an incredible experience. We also took the Funicular up to the bar at the St. Regis to have apres ski drinks. Park City, Utah is definitely one of the best ski towns I have ever been to and I have been to many including Mammoth Mountain, Lake Tahoe, Whistler, and Killington in Vermont.
How to Get to Park City for a Ski Trip:
In my opinion Park City is one of the easiest ski destinations to visit because it is a 1 hour and 25 minute flight from Los Angeles and is only a 45 minute drive from airport to either the Deer Valley Resort or the Park City Resort. If you want to make sure you have the most hassle free experience possible when skiing Park City in the winter, my suggestion would be to look into a ski in ski out lodging location or at least one of the hotels or condos on the property of the Park City or Deer Valley Resorts. When it snows like it did this past Saturday in Park City, the plows can’t seem to plow the thick fluffy snow away fast enough for us warm weather folks to drive around confidently around town.
What Ski Gear to pack for a trip to Park City Utah for a ski trip:
If you are skiing or snowboarding in Park City, make sure you pack at least a few different layers. It can go from 15 degrees in the morning to 35 degrees by afternoon. You may want to peel those layers off after lunch and leave them in your locker. But, if you don’t have enough warm layers, you will be pretty sad on those ski lifts where windchill factor can make it feel like it is 0 degrees as opposed to 15 degrees. I looked everywhere online for a What to Pack for a Ski Trip to Park City Utah guide and could not find one, so I am making one here for all of you who are like me and need a list to help guide you for your next ski trip to Park City.
