Beauty Beyond LA Skincare and Make Up Concierge Service
If you have ever shopped at a department store you know what it is like to leave even more confused than when you entered about which face cream, serum, or eye cream you should be using for your post 20+ year old skin. Everytime I walk into any department store or multi brand beauty retailer to buy any skincare or make up product, I leave with 2 or 3 additional products that I did not need that I usually buy from impulse and will never use in the end. This usual beauty shopping routine generally creates clutter and waste in the end. This happens because people who work in these stores are not knowledgable about the products they sell. When I heard about Beauty Beyond LA, I realized this was a concierge service that everyone needs. Unlike the show with that concierge doctor in the Hamptons, this service is available to everyone. Although Beauty Beyond LA offers a personalized service of analyzing your skin’s needs and make up color needs, you don’t have to own a home in the Hamptons to afford their services. Beauty Beyond LA wants to educate everyone about skincare that is sourced from the best ingredients to help your skin stay healthy while looking great and they charge the same retail prices as everyone else in the industry. So the perk for shopping with them is that you are always in the know about the most cutting edge products in the industry before anyone else in the mass market.
Beauty Beyond LA Skincare and Make Up Concierge Service is made up of Shannon Soller and Simone Capeluto
The Beauty Beyond LA Concierge Service team is made up of Shannon Soller and Simone Capeluto. These two ladies are industry veterans in skincare and make up.
Shannon was a make up artist who also worked in product development, marketing, and sales for companies such as Estee LauderGroup, Fresh and Adidas. Shannon wanted to bring back a retail experience to the beauty consumer that was about customer service and education for make up.
Simone was a model for 18 years who traveled and worked in Europe, Japan, and the US with make up artists for Elle, Marie Claire, and Bazaar Magazine and also managed a top modeling agency in South Africa where she worked with top stylists, make up artists, international clients, and models. Having worked in both sides of the industry, Simone learned all about what was missing for women in the beauty industry and wanted to help bridge the gap through curating the best skincare products with the best ingredients and a personalized service.
Beauty Beyond LA Skincare and Make Up Concierge Service Products and Home Visit
The experience of the Beauty Beyond LA Skincare and Make Up Concierge Service is all about your in home consult visit and the curated products. Just know they can also do an in home visit through Facetime so you don’t have to be in the same city to work with them. They have clients all over the US that consult with them about skincare and make up needs over Facetime or Skype. So the first thing they do when they arrive at your home in LA or virtually arrive at your home via Facetime or Skype is look through your make up drawers and skincare drawers. They want to understand what make up and skincare you are using and what you are not using and help you simplify your routine. They learn alot about you from just scanning your make up and skincare products and are ready to go from there.
We start with skincare first. Simone asks me about skin sensitivities and other concerns regarding my skin. I told her I had rosacea, sensitive skin, large pores, clogged pores, blackheads, and combination skin. She chose some products for me to try that included a Joanna Vargas scrub, DNA eye balm, MD Solarsciences BB cream, and a Radical face cream. She showed me how to apply the Joanna Vargas scrub gently to my face and explained that I should try to wash my face with face towels so that I could see everything I am removing and make sure that I get it all each time. She emphasized that it was very important not to scrub too hard and that the granulars in the scrub will do the work for me. As soon as I cleaned off the scrub from my face I noticed my pores felt tighter and my skin glowed. Next I feathered the Radical face cream gently all over my face and used my two fingertips to gently swipe the face cream upwards onto my face. The Radical face cream is perfect for sensitive skin and helps to fill in fine lines and wrinkles while leaving the skin glowing and quickly absorbs into the skin without any oily residue and is supposed to decrease wrinkle depth by 50% in 4 weeks with daily use. After that I applied the MDSolarsciences BB cream all over my face as a primer. The MDSolarsciences cream mineral beauty balm contains antioxidants that helps even out skin-tone while reducing discolorations and providing broad spectrum protection. That is a great little multi tasking product if there ever was one! I then applied the DNA Eye Balm which was the lightest eye balm that sunk right in and gave my underye area a glow. This DNA Eye Balm was created by world renowned dermatologist Dr. Ronald Moy to combat and delay the signs of aging.
Shannon then helped me choose the right foundation color, concealer, blush, lip color, and mascara to complete my look. She chose the prettiest shade of peachy pink for my lips and a complimenting blush from Ilia that made me look 10 years younger. I would never have chosen that color, but it was certainly the right choice for me. Shannon tested several shades of foundation on me and found the correct color that left my skin looking youthful and glowing. My biggest frustration has always been finding the right foundation color and she really matched my skincolor to the foundation exactly. I like a lighter concealer for a highlighted look and she helped me choose a lighter shade of concealer for that purpose. She taught me how to apply the concealer with a v shaped dots under each eye and then used a beauty blender to blend it all in. When it was time to apply the blush she showed me how a little went a long way and showed me how to dot it on my cheekbones before gently tapping it all in without rubbing too hard which I tend to do. The products used on me included the Ilia Limitless mascara, Ilia multi-stick in a peachy color called I Put A Spell on You, La Bella Donna Lipgloss in Prism, La Bella Donna Contour Palette, Ilia Foundation in #4, and Ilia Eye Shadow sticks in the colors On and On that was used as a base, Next To You for the eyelid, And She Was for the crease area. The result was a fresh natural look that gave me a younger look. I loved it.
In the end, Simone and Shannon wrote up my personal directions and left me with some skincare product samples to try for the week to make sure I was not allergic to anything before buying. I really liked this because my skin tends to react to new products and so it is a great idea to let people try the products with samples before buying in case they need to make any changes for me.
They also wrote me an email checking in on me today to see if I had any questions or concerns. Overall, the products have been great and I like them all. I also like the fact that all the make up only have natural ingredients and that my skin will actually benefit from the ingredients found in the foundation as opposed to clogging my pores. What a great concept for Beauty Beyond LA to offer. They introduced me to a lot of new healthier alternatives for my skincare and make up needs and they educated me on which products were best for my skin as well as educating me on the correct ways to apply my make up and which colors were right for me. AND the best part was that they came to my house and went through my skincare and make up drawers to see what I already had so that they did not sell me anything I did not need.
