It’s that time of the year again. Another highly awaited show has premiered and swayed the tides of social media to revive a relic of the past. This time, I’d like to introduce you to what the internet has dubbed “Regencycore” fashion. The return of these trends is mostly credited to Bridgerton. In fact, since its release a couple of years ago, it’s been making waves in the fashion world. The spotlight for today falls on the viral Nap Dress.
We should talk about the Nap Dress. Everyone’s talking about it. It’s a prime example of both the Regency daintiness and the stylish-but-casual look that’s really common these days. The low but wide neckline is a top-tier example of Regency fashion. On the other hand, the fitted bodice makes you feel sexy yet it’s also loose-fitting and comfortable. It also comes in several colors and several fabrics. It doesn’t even matter now that I’m saying that it’s a nightgown because it’s pretty and comfy enough to be worn when you’re running a few errands or even going on a romantic stroll with a beau.
The look isn’t complete without accessories. “Regencycore” bonnets are practically made to match with these dresses. It’s a disservice to these bonnets to not be paired with nap dresses. You’re only missing these straw bags for a complete look. Personally, it is a very good look.
