After a long work week we settled into Katsuya in Los Angeles for some champagne and sushi for a Friday night dinner. Everyone in my family had a long week. My daughter had lots of tests and sports games, my husband and I had challenging work issues we dealt with all week, so we decided we needed a break from the make dinner and wash dishes routine so we could just sit together and regroup. It was a perfect Friday night considering the perfect rainy weather we had been having all day in Los Angeles. The air was crisp and cool and everyone at the restaurant was buzzing with end of day chatter and just wanted to hunker down, order some food, and download about their week. We ordered our favorites which included the spicy tuna on crispy rice, albacore sashimi with grilled onions, mushroom salad, and spicy edamame. We also ordered something new – the tempura crab mozzarella which was a interesting, but overall the meal was great.
The music was a low hum of club mixes and everyone was in a good mood because of it was the end of the work week. We enjoyed the well paced service and reconnected. This was what we needed after a long week running around with our daily routines. It is definitely something we all need to remember as busy individuals.
If we do not slow down and reconnect once in a while, we can lose touch with our loved ones. It was the perfect way to end a crazy work week. How do you like to end your work weeks? Do you like to cook? Do you like to go out? Do you like to do a potluck with friends? Let me know in the comments.
